OUR FINANCES

APDHR

APDHR is committed to the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and integrity in all our work. Across Nigeria, we shine a light on injustice, abuse of power, and violations of fundamental human rights wherever they occur.

We are a growing movement of citizens, advocates, and defenders working to ensure that every person’s dignity is respected and protected. Through research, legal analysis, strategic advocacy, and public engagement, we challenge oppression, demand accountability, and support those whose rights have been unlawfully denied.

We take action, empower communities, and inspire others to speak out and stand firm against injustice, repression, and abuse.

Where our money comes from

APDHR’s work is built on principles of independence, impartiality, and accountability. We act solely to protect human rights and challenge injustice across Nigeria, free from influence by governments, political parties, religious bodies, or corporate interests.

Currently, our funding comes mainly from small contributions from members and supporters within Nigeria. While modest, these contributions allow us to sustain our advocacy, research, awareness campaigns, and community engagement initiatives. Every donation, no matter the size, directly supports our mission to defend the rights of those whose voices are most at risk.

As we grow, we remain committed to transparent and responsible management of funds, ensuring that resources are used effectively to amplify impact and promote human rights nationwide.

How we spend our money

Every naira we receive is directed toward advancing human rights in Nigeria. APDHR invests in research, advocacy, public education, and legal support for individuals and communities whose rights are at risk.

A portion of our funds also goes into training and capacity-building, empowering local volunteers and staff to respond effectively to urgent human rights issues, including domestic violence, police abuse, and discrimination.

We are committed to transparency and accountability, ensuring that each contribution strengthens our work on the ground, supports our campaigns, and maximizes impact for those whose voices need to be heard most.
